Completed 200 Surveys
Survey draw winners were announced
Prizes were 2 Ti-Cat tickets, 2 $25.00 movie cards, and a rec pass
Will present everything at the September meeting

Summer supie project was hit off free for ages 6 – 13
Parkdale pool free Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 4
Hosting Pan Am’s Hamilton Kick Its Up International Food Festival @ Ottawa St. Still looking for volunteers for these events
Spaghetti Dinner – Jaclyn & Melissa
There was $965.00 raised for this event and over $300 in cupcake sales
Every child attending Hillcrest and Viscount Montgomery will all receive an extra T-Shirt
Sprouts Camp – Kelly
Starts July 20th, will go for 6 weeks
20 kids per week only $10.00
83 out of 120 spots filled by mainly McQuesten residents
Spots left for August but July is full
Rec division helped out with extra support on activities
McQuesten Market – Pat
Had 2 weeks of farmers market with lots of fresh produce for 50 cents a bundle
Runs from 12 – 2 every Saturday
Going to start printing out recipes
100 lbs. of fresh produce was harvested
Block Party – Casey
September 19th from 2 – 6 here at McQuesten
First meeting on July 28th @ 3pm
MCYU – Sandy
Had 55 kids come out, 14 were from McQuesten
People thought this area was wonderful, and the students learned a lot
There was lots of surveys and none of them had any negative comments
Going to keep working in the neighbourhood
Urban Farms – Adam
Gearing up for construction
Hoping to start in September will be 4 to 6 weeks of activity
Will be restricted access with heavy construction vehicles present
Early spring gazebo and other structures will be going up
Conversations with potential donors and lots of grant writing keeping them busy
Community Garden – Cathy
Lots of weeds around and they need a work day for Children’s Land to get it all cleaned up
Looking to do a celebration after clean up
Kids wants to see more trees and maybe a labyrinth
SPRC – Laura
Small grant request for materials for Farmers Market, packing materials, folding tables, scales, buckets, lock & chains, pruners, children’s wheelbarrow, salad spinner, double sink etc.
Moved for a $1500 grant by Dyanne, 2nd by Sylvia, All in favour
Made $51.00 first week and $81.00 the second week
Neighbourhood Action – Deb
Engaging the whole of Hamilton on what they would like to see what Hamilton will look like in 25 years
This will guide the city in the next 25 years

Not for profit
10 day festival downtown with community engagement with art
50 spots 30 spots are for Hamilton companies no censorship and there is a lottery on who gets the spot
Breaking barriers so everyone can go
Come this week to get free bus tickets to go with the pass, but you have to bring your pass to get the bus tickets
Daycare – Doreen
Accepting applications in McQuesten for preschool for September
Boys and Girls Club – Deb
Bringing in program Lets Get Moving here in September
Monday and Thursday there will be cooking at McQuesten
Pop Up Park – Adam
Pop up park being built today at vacant lot next to Lister Block
From Tues- Sat from 10 – 8
Will be bands, workshops, free foods, yoga, zumba, and soccer
JumpStart – Jesse
Can receive $600 a year for two sports
$600 for equipment and sports can also get recreation fee assistance
